Big Games in Class 4A Thursday Night

There are two great matchups Thursday night involving districts 5-4A & 6-4A.

The District 5-4A rivalry game between Denton Ryan (8-1) and Denton Guyer (9-0) kicks off at 7 p.m. Thursday at C.H. Collins Athletic Complex, a change from schedules issued at the beginning of the season.

The date was changed several weeks ago so it could be broadcast by Fox Sports Southwest, which will show the game to cable audiences throughout the state.

The winner will get the district’s top seed in Class 4A Region I Division I, while the loser will be the runner-up.

In District 6-4A the Birdville Hawks (9-0) take on the Aledo Bearcats (8-1) to decide the district champion. Both teams look to be going Division II, and this game will decide the seeding.

The game will be broadcast locally in the Dallas-Fort Worth Metroplex on channel 21 and boasts two of the most prolific offensive players in the state in Birdville quarterback Josh Dorman, who has thrown for 3,255 yards and 43 touchdowns while completing over 66% of his throws and Aledo running back Johnathan Gray, who has 1,541 yards rushing to go along with 30 touchdowns.
