The Class 2A Division I State Quarterfinals features eight teams with only four losses between them, including two matchups of undefeated teams; Altair Rice vs. George West and Arp vs. Kirbyville.
If Muleshoe, who was ranked # 3 in the final AP Poll manages to win a state title, no one could accuse them of taking the easy road. They first knocked off Bushland, who was # 9 in the final AP Poll, then beat # 12 Littlefield, who were both undefeated. They now face # 10 Clyde, who handed Cisco their only loss. Those three teams were 29-1 at season's end.
If the Mules get by Clyde, the road gets no easier as they could eventually play the winner of Kirbyville vs. Arp, the # 2 and # 4 teams in the state.
